ANGOLA, Ind. – The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League announced its 2026 All-MCVL teams this afternoon. Trine University earned four selections including a pair of first team honors. The Thunder were Co-Regular Season Champions with Wittenberg University.
The quartet all earned their first career honors.
Johnson-Kuhao Ho'okano-Pelekai and
Karl Both were named to the first team while freshmen
John Mikrut and
Dalton Lutes earned second team and honorable mention status.
Ho'okano-Pelekai ranked fourth in the conference in kills (274) and fifth in kills per set (3.22). He led the league in aces (15) and kills per set in conference games (3.97). During the conference season the senior hit .264. He sits just two aces away from the Thunder's career record. Ho'okano-Pelekai was third in the MCVL with 323 points.
Both ranked fourth in the MCVL in hitting percentage (.348) with 185 kills. His impact was felt more on the defensive end where he led the league with 82 total blocks, 35 coming solo. Both averaged nearly a block per set (.98) and is Trine's all-time leader in blocks with 237.
Mikrut made an immediate impact as a freshman, starting in all 25 matches and registering 267 kills at a .232 clip. He ranks fifth in the conference in kills. He added 25 aces and 35 blocks.
Lutes claimed honorable mention status as Trine's libero. The freshman ranks second in the MCVL in digs with 251. He had a reception percentage of .958. He ranks third in program history for digs in a season and fifth in digs per set.
Trine heads to Wittenberg for the MCVL Tournament this weekend, they will take on Calvin University at 4 p.m. tomorrow, April 10
