The Thunder cheerleading squad are among the most active and visible groups on campus, including cheering or dancing on the sidelines at football and basketball games, making public appearances at community and regional events.
The Thunder cheerleading squad consists of a group of young men and women who enjoy promoting school spirit, creating enthusiasm and entertaining fans at Thunder athletic events. The audience is treated to big basket tosses, partner stunts, and distinctive routines. They provide sideline entertainment and half-time performances.
Incoming freshman are eligible to earn the Trine University Cheerleading Scholarship! Freshmen who make the squad are eligible to earn a $1000 scholarship for each year that they remain on the cheerleading squad.
Trine University Cheerleading is broken down into two squads, Game Day and Competition. All Game Day cheerleaders are responsible for cheering at home football and basketball. Competition cheerleaders are responsible for all home football games and use the basketball season to focus on competition. Requirements differ for each squad and vary season to season depending on what the program is looking for.
