LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Trine University softball team once again stayed put in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/GoRout Division III Coaches Poll, sitting second for the third week in a row.

The Thunder retained 240 points in the poll to be second in the fourth regular season edition of the rankings. Virginia Wesleyan University was again the undisputed top team. Linfield University moved into third place while Saint Mary's (Minn.) University held onto fourth. Texas Lutheran University dropped to fifth after being third in last week's poll.

Trine played their home opening doubleheader in their only games of last week. They swept visiting Anderson (Ind.) University with an 8-0 run-rule victory and a 6-1 second game.

Later today the team will take on Ohio Northern University in a pair of contests. The first is scheduled for 3 p.m.
