LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Trine University softball team fell one spot in the third edition of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/GoRout Division III Coaches Poll.
In the second rankings of the regular season saw the Thunder receive 240 points, dropping out of the first position. Virginia Wesleyan University took over the top spot with Texas Lutheran University moving into third.
Trine went 5-1 at the 2026 NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic. Their lone loss came to Berry College who is now ranked fifth after being named the champions of that event. In the win column the Thunder picked up victories over seventh-ranked East Texas Baptist University and 23rd ranked Belhaven (Miss.) University.
The team will now enjoy a two week break before hosting Anderson (Ind.) University on Saturday, March 21. That doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
