Women's Lacrosse Tabbed Third in MIAA Coaches' Poll

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced the results of their 2026 Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Poll. Trine University checks in at third with 36 points. Hope College is selected as the favorite with 49 points and seven first place votes.
 
Calvin University is picked second with 43 points and one first place vote. Adrian College was selected fourth and Kalamazoo was fifth. Albion, Alma, and Saint Mary's rounded out the poll.
 
Trine returns 10 players from last season's squad that went 11-5 overall and 5-2 in MIAA play. The Thunder earned a trip to their third MIAA Championship in four seasons.
 
Headlining the returners is second-team All-MIAA selection and MIAA Freshman of the Year Izabelle Dominski. Dominski netted 37 goals and 46 points last season in the midfield, scoring her 37 goals on 57 shots on goal for an efficient 65%.
 
Evalyn Bellotti and Elizabeth Larson are also back after second team All-MIAA nods last season. Larson was fourth on the team with 31 goals and 38 points. She won 71 draw controls and grabbed 41 ground balls. Bellotti led the defense that allowed 9.5 goals per game in conference play. She caused 15 turnovers and grabbed 18 ground balls.
 
Kelsey Yanagihara returns to tend the goal. Yanagihara was 9-4 in the net last year, the second most goalie wins in program history and made 107 saves.
 
Trine opens their season on February 21st at Madonna (Mich.), the Thunder's home opener is on February 26th at 4:00 p.m. when they host Bethel (Ind.).
