ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's hockey team dropped two spots in both national polls after a 0-1-1 weekend against fellow nationally ranked St. Norbert College.

After moving up to tenth in last week's edition, the Thunder are back at 12th according to the USCHO.com poll. This week saw the team drop 20 points to 82 in the poll. They're now situated behind Endicott College and ahead of Bowdoin College.

The team holds the same ranking in the DIII Hockey News rankings. They lost 11 points to finish this week with 80 in the poll. They currently sit behind Endicott and one spot ahead of Babson College.

Three other members of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) are featured in the poll, down one from last week. Adrian College was the big riser taking over the second spot in both polls after sweeping MSOE, who dropped out of the receiving votes category after the losses. The Green Knights moved into third place after the weekend, while Aurora University dropped to fourth after splitting their weekend with Lawrence University.

Trine hosted a tough pair of games against St. Norbert this past weekend with both needing extra time to reach a conclusion. On Friday, the visitors made a three-goal comeback to force overtime where they scored quickly to hand the Thunder an overtime loss. On Saturday, the teams were stalemated through the extra period, but the Green Knights won the shootout 2-1.

The Thunder currently hold a 5-3-2 overall record. They are 4-2-2 in NCHA play, having earned 14 points toward the conference standings. Adrian and St. Norbert are tied for first with 19 points and Aurora sists in third with 17. The team will host Buffalo State University this weekend to finish off the 2025 portion of their schedule. Game one of the series is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, December 12.
