ADRIAN, Mich. –The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has announced its men's hockey "3 Stars of the Week," with Trine's Alexander Babich among those recognized.

Along with teammate Kyle Kozma, the pair represent the first members of the Thunder to earn Star of the Week honors this season. This is the first time in the sophomore's career that he has taken home the weekly award.

The Chicago, Ill. native, was the catalyst for the offense as the team defeated nationally ranked Adrian College this past week. After trailing the Bulldogs at the end of the first Trine scored two in each of the final periods, with Babich scoring once and adding a pair of assists. His three points led the team.

The win helped propel the Thunder back into the national rankings, after dropping out for the first time this season.

Though it won't count towards the season stats, Babich also was the offensive powerhouse in the team's exhibition victory over the USNTDP U-18 Team. He scored the game winner before assisting on the second goal of the night in the team's 2-0 victory.
