ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's tennis team dropped their final home contest of the season to visiting Adrian College by the score of 9-0.

The top team of Elina Locane and Alexis Maloney battled despite ultimately losing the No. 1 doubles match. The two teams needed a tiebreaker to decide a winner, with the Bulldogs prevailing by the score of 8-7 (7-3).

Maloney also turned in a gutsy performance in the singles portion of the contest, forcing a super tiebreaker in the No. 3 match. She ultimately lost with scores of 0-6, 6-4, 9-11. The other close match came in the No. 2 match where Emilee Bassett fell in her own super tiebreaker, with scores of 4-6, 6-2, 7-10.

The Thunder fall to 10-6 overall and 2-2 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contests. They will head to Alma College for their next dual on Saturday, April 13. The match is set to start at 2 p.m.
