KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Members of the Trine University women's tennis team competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional Championship this past weekend.

Emma Beehler was the top-seeded member of the Thunder in the singles draw. She dropped her opening match to a Calvin University student-athlete with scores of 6-1, 6-1. In the consolation bracket, Beehler started with a win, defeating a member of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's team with score of 6-4, 6-7 (12-14), 10-7. She then bowed out of the tournament with a 6-1, 6-2 loss.

Avery Elsworth was the other member of the Trine team to compete individually. She won her opening contest against an Otterbein University individual with scores of 6-4, 6-3. Her ranked opponent from the University of Chicago was too much in the second round and she excited competition with a 6-0, 6-0 loss.

Beehler took to the courts again along with her doubles partner Emily Hatseras. The pair opened the draw with an 8-3 victory over Hanover College but fell in their second match to a ranked pairing from Washington (Mo.) University.

The tournament marks the completion of the fall season for Trine. They will next compete during their Spring Break Trip in March of 2027.
