UPLAND, Ind. – The Trine University women's tennis team dropped a dual match for the first time this season, falling to their hosts from Taylor University by the score of 5-2.
The Trojans took the first point of the day, taking two of three doubles matches. The lone win for the Thunder came in the No. 2 match where Avery Elsworth and Addison Lockwood came away with a 6-4 result.
Taylor locked up the win with the first wins of the singles portion of the contest, but Trine did secure a pair of their own. The first came from Cali Mickley in the No. 4 match. She turned in scores of 6-4, 6-3. The same score held in the No. 6 match where Lockwood came up with a win.
The Thunder fall to 2-1 overall following the loss. The team is set to return to the courts on Thursday, September 17 for their rescheduled match against Manchester University. That dual is set to start at 4 p.m.
