NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Trine University women's tennis team moved indoors for their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) dual match against Saint Mary's College before falling by the score of 8-1.

The Thunder dropped all three of the doubles matches for the day but had strong efforts in the first and third. Elina Locane and Alexis Maloney at No. 1 and Kennedy Outwater and Lizzie Welker in the No. 3 match both all lost 8-4.

The lone win of the day came from Locane in the opening match of the singles portion winning with scores of 6-3, 6-1. Outwater came close to forcing a third set going to a tiebreaker in the second set of the No. 5 match ultimately falling 1-6, 6-7 (2-7).

Trine falls to 10-8 overall and 2-4 in MIAA play following the loss. They will continue their season when they travel to face Calvin University on Saturday, April 20. That match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
