ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's tennis team came up short of visiting Hope College in their second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) dual of the season, falling by the score of 9-0.

The closest of the doubles matches came at No. 1 where the team of Elina Locane and Alexis Maloney took five points but fell 8-5. Lizzie Welker turned in the best performance of the singles portion of the day, winning the first set before falling in a super tiebreaker with scores of 6-3, 3-6, 7-10.

The team falls to 9-5 overall and 1-1 in MIAA play following the loss. The team will return to action on Tuesday, April 2 when they host Albion College for their third MIAA dual. That match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
