ANGOLA, Ind. – Calvin University was too much for the Trine University women's tennis team handing them a 7-2 loss in their final Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) home contest of the season.

The Knights would take two of the three doubles matches to build a 2-1 lead early in the match. Seniors Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) and Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble) would take the lone win for the Thunder winning the No. 1 match 8-7 (7-1).

Spirrison would then pick up the only victory for the team in the singles portion of the contest winning the No. 1 match 6-1, 6-2.

The team falls to 10-7 overall and 3-4 in MIAA play following the loss. They will finish off the regular season when they travel to face Olivet College on Saturday, April 23. The dual is scheduled to start at noon.
