HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Trine University women's tennis team ran into an extremely tough opponent in their hosts from Hope College, falling in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match 9-0.

Seniors Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeaster) and Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble) would post the best score during the doubles portion of the contest finishing the No. 1 match with an 8-3 loss.

Then in singles Spirrison would again post the best performance dropping the No. 1 match 6-3, 6-2.

The Thunder fall to 10-6 overall and 3-3 in MIAA play following the loss. They will finish off the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, April 16 when they host Calvin University for a 2 p.m. dual match.
