ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's tennis team was forced indoors to contest their first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) dual of the season against Kalamazoo College, with the opposition coming out on top by the score of 7-2.

Senior Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) would help account for both of the team's points in the contest, the lone member of the team to go undefeated on the day. She began the day with classmate Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble) picking up an 8-3 win in the No. 1 doubles match. She would then win the No. 1 singles match with scores of 6-0, 6-3.

The Thunder fall to 7-4 overall and 0-1 in MIAA play following the loss. They will travel to face Alma College in their next match which is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 at 4 p.m.
