ANGOLA, Ind. -- A day after picking up a historic victory the Trine University women's tennis team was handed a loss by visiting Kalamazoo College with a score of 7-2.

The Thunder No. 1 double team of juniors Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) and Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble) came up with the lone doubles victory in the match with the 8-6 win. Seniors Andrea Jordan (New Haven, Ind. / New Haven) and Trista Savage (Bryan, Ohio / Bryan) turned in a strong performance in the No. 3 match but ultimately fell in the tiebreaker by the score of 8-7 (8-4).

Spirrison accounted for the other victory of the day with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 1 singles match.

Trine falls to 12-3 following the loss. They are scheduled to return to the courts on Tuesday, April 13 when they host Albion College for a 4 p.m. contest.
