KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Trine University women's tennis team was defeated for only the second time this season dropping their contest against Kalamazoo College by the score of 8-1.

The lone win of the day for the Thunder came in the No. 1 singles match. Junior Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) came away with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in that match to remain undefeated in singles play this season.

The team falls to 9-2 overall and 0-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play following the loss. They will continue their season when they host Alma College on Tuesday, March 30 for another MIAA contest. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.
