Women's Tennis Extends Streak to Six with Shutout Victory

ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's tennis team came up with a shutout 9-0 victory over visiting Adrian College to remain unbeaten for the season.

In the No. 1 doubles match juniors Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) and Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble) started off the winning with an 8-2 victory. In the No. 2 match, seniors Andrea Jordan (New Haven, Ind. / New Haven) and Trista Savage (Bryan, Ohio / Bryan) picked up an 8-4 win. Freshman Jadyn Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) and junior Camille Lozier (Elkhart, Ind. / Concord) finished off the doubles portion of the contest with an 8-6 win.

Spirrison in the No. 1 singles match and Lozier in the No. 6 match each came away with 6-0, 6-1 wins. Davis came away with a 6-3, 6-0 win in the No. 2 match while Cole won the No. 4 match 6-1, 6-2. Sophomore Eva Morales (Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Memorial) took the No. 3 match 6-1, 6-1. Savage came up with the most decisive singles victory taking the No. 5 match 6-0, 6-0.

The Thunder improve to 6-0 following the win. They will take on Bethel (Ind.) University in their next match which is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
