GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. -- The Trine University women's tennis team was defeated this afternoon by host Calvin College, 8-1.

The Thunder failed to pick up a match during the doubles portion of the event and entered the singles portion trailing 3-0. The lone Trine point came from sophomore Kyra Braun (Portland, Ind. / Jay County) in the No. 5 match with scores of 6-2, 7-6.

Trine falls to 10-9 overall and 3-4 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) following the loss. The Thunder still have a chance at making the MIAA tournament as the four-seed but will need to pick up a crucial victory in their home match on Wednesday, April 25 starting at 3 p.m.
