Thunder Push Pilots Off Course

ANGOLA, IND. – The Trine University women's tennis team held off Bethel (Ind.) College, coming away with the 6-3 victory.

The Thunder came out of the doubles portion of the evening with a 2-1 lead, picking up victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. The team of senior Kinnsey Pass (Lafayette, Ind. / Jefferson) and freshman Andrea Jordan (New Haven, Ind. / New Haven) came away with the 8-3 win in the No. 2 match, while sophomore Kyra Braun (Portland, Ind. / Jay County) and freshman Katie Simon (Paw Paw, Mich. / Paw Paw) took the No. 3 match 8-0.

Trine then added four wins in the singles portion of the competition to take the with by the score of 6-3. Pass took the No. 3 match with scores of 6-4, 6-4; while Braun took the No. 5 match 6-3, 7-5. Junior Theresa Magenheimer (Indianapolis, Ind. / Hamilton Heights) at No. 4 and Simon at No. 6 each came away with victories with scores of 6-4, 6-3.

The Thunder improve to 7-5 following the victory. They will return to the courts on Wednesday, March 28, when they open conference play by hosting St. Mary's College. The match is set to start at 4 p.m.
