SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Trine women's tennis team was defeated by Saint Mary's, 9-0, in MIAA-action Thursday evening at the South Bend Racquet Club.

Kyra Braun (Portland, Ind. / Jay County) saw her seven match winning-streak come to an end. The freshman opened her collegiate career with a 7-0 start. Abby Hoge (Berrien Springs, Mich. / Berrien Springs) provided a tough test to her opponent in the first set, but was defeated in two sets.

Trine fell to 2-11 overall and 0-2 in the MIAA. Saint Mary's improved to 7-9 overall and 1-0 in conference matches.

The Thunder host Albion Sunday, Apr. 9 at 1 p.m.
