NOTRE DAME, Ind.-- Trine was defeated by St. Mary's, 7-2 in an MIAA match Wednesday afternoon at the SMC Tennis Courts.

The Thunder got a victory in the no. 1 doubles flight as Erin Kwaske (Jackson, Mich./Western) and Lexi Mack (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) earned an 8-3 victory. The duo has now won three-straight matches in the no. 1 court. Kwaske and Mack picked up their fifth victory as a pairing this season. Trine fell to 6-5 overall and 1-2 in the MIAA with the loss. St. Mary's improved to 8-7 overall, 3-1 in conference matches.

Madison Hatkevich (Granger, Ind./Edwardsburg) picked up Trine's lone singles victory in the no. 5 court. The freshman won by scores of 6-4, 6-2 to win her second-straight match. Hatkevich is 6-3 on the season, including 2-2 in the no. 5 flight.

Trine returns to action Saturday, Apr. 11 at Alma. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
