GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- The Trine women's tennis team closed its season with an 8-1 loss to Calvin in an MIAA-match Saturday afternoon at Strikwerda Tennis Courts.

Trine's lone victory came from Chelsea Ort (Kendallville, Ind./East Noble) at no. 6 singles. The freshman earned set wins by scores of 6-4, 6-4. Ort concluded her first collegiate season with a 7-3 overall record in singles matches, including a 5-3 mark in conference matches. The Thunder concluded the season 9-7 overall, with a 4-4 record in MIAA matches. Calvin improved to 12-7 overall, 6-2 in conference matches.

Erin Kwaske (Jackson, Mich./Western) played the final match of her collegiate career. The senior concluded her career with 30 victories. Included among Kwaske's career efforts was a 13-win campaign as a sophomore.

Along with captain Lexi Mack (Temperance, Mich./Bedford), Kwaske helped lead Trine to its best season as a member of the MIAA. The team's four conference wins was the highest for the Thunder since joining the conference in 2004-05.

Trine finished the season in fifth-place in the conference.
