ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine women's tennis team was defeated by 26th-ranked Hope in an MIAA-match Wednesday afternoon.

The no. 1 Thunder doubles pairing of Erin Kwaske (Jackson, Mich./Western) and Lexi Mack (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) gave the Dutch their toughest match of the night. The duo pushed Hope's top doubles pairing of Nancy Benda and Carli Capestany, but were defeated 8-6. Mack also provided a tough match in the no. 2 singles flight.

Trine fell to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in the MIAA. The Thunder are now in fifth-place in the conference. Hope improved to 18-4 overall and 8-0 in conference matches.

Trine concludes the regular-season this Saturday, April 25 with a 1 p.m. match at Calvin.
