WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO HOPE

HOLLAND, Mich. - The Trine's women's tennis team lost to regionally ranked Hope 9-0. With the loss, Trine goes to 4-10 for the season and 0-6 in MIAA play.

Women's tennis traveled to the 17th regionally ranked Flying Dutch but was unable to record a victory for any match. The first doubles team of sophomores Jessica Huhnke (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) and Lauren Schlueter (Akron, Ohio/Revere) lost in a close match 8-5. Sophomore Chrissy Uphaus (Centerville, Ind./Centerville) and junior Samantha Willmann (Anderson, Ind./Frankton) dropped their second doubles match by a score of 8-1. Freshman Erin Kwaske (Jackson, Mich./Western) and junior Kaylynne Goeglein (Fremont, Ind./Fremont) fell at third doubles 8-4.

In the singles matches, Huhnke suffered her second loss of the season as fell at first singles 6-1, 6-4. Uphaus dropped her match at second singles 6-0, 6-2 and Schlueter lost at third singles 6-4, 6-1. Willmann played at fourth singles and fell 6-1, 6-1. Goeglein fell at fifth singles by a score of 6-1, 6-0 and junior Susan Breinling (Fremont, Mich./Faith Christian) lost her sixth singles match 6-2, 6-1.

The Lady Thunder will go right back to work as they travel to Olivet for a 1:00 p.m. match on April 15th.
