FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced their All-MIAA selections for Men's Indoor Track and Field. Trine University has seven athletes named to the All-MIAA teams.
Braden Estep was named Most Valuable Track Athlete for his performance.
Athletes who placed first in an event at the MIAA Championships last week earned first team status and those who finished second earned second team status. Athletes who placed first and second in an event will only be recognized as a first team selection. Athletes who won or placed second in multiple events will only be recognized as All-MIAA one time.
Estep claimed MIAA titles in the 60- and 200-meter dashes and helped Trine to a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay. He scored 21.5 points in the meet, the third most of any performer. His time of 6.82 seconds in the 60-meters lowered his school record and ranks 28
th nationally. His time of 21.93 seconds in the 200-meter dash in 29
th nationally.
Max Van Huis earned his third first team All-MIAA selection with a win in the 3000-meter run. He earns his seventh All-MIAA nod, he also owns two second team awards and one of each in cross country.
Hunter Eifert, Brady Millington,
Drew Sillaway and
Ethan Schroeder took second place in the 4000-meter Distance Medley Relay with a time of 10:31.78, the sixth fastest in school history. For Eifert, Millington, and Schroeder this marks the trios first career All-MIAA selections. This is Sillaway's second second-team honor.
Blake Overmyer claimed his first All-MIAA honor in track and field with a second place finish in the 5000-meter run. His time of 15:03.74 lowered his #9 all-time mark in the event. Overmyer was named second team All-MIAA in cross country in 2024.
Trine travels to Waverly, Iowa this weekend for the Wartburg Final Qualifier. This is the last chance for athletes to hit national marks for next weekend's NCAA Championships in Birmingham, Ala. The top-20 individuals and 12 relays will qualify for the meet.
