HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Trine University men's track and field team wrapped up the indoor regular season at the Hillsdale College Tune Up on Saturday afternoon. Trine sent a small group of sprinters, pole vaulters, and throwers to the meet, which was not team scored.
Preston Nofziger led the way for Trine with a fourth place finish in the pole vault. He cleared a personal best 4.56 meters/14' 11.5" and now ranks fifth in program history. Fellow vaulters,
Isaiah Freewalt,
Jackson Sines, and
Scott Martin also posted personal best marks in the competition.
Colton Zableckis placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 14.26m/46' 9.5" and
Trace Stookey was sixth with a 13.73m/45' .5" heave.
Harrison Richter and
Cody Bickley added personal bests in the event.
Gavin Woodrum and
Tyler Torbeson placed third and fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with times of 9.11 and 9.29 seconds. The mark is a personal best for Woodrum.
The Thunder went 1-2-3-4 in the 400 meter dash.
Timothy Crull took the win in 53.18 seconds.
Brady Snyder,
Owen Sulecki, and
Ian Kitchell completed the sweep.
Trine hosts the MIAA Championships next Friday and Saturday. The Thunder look to claim their seventh consecutive indoor title and 12 straight between the indoor and outdoor seasons.
