Three Thunder Named to All-MIAA Women's Basketball Team

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has released its 2025-26 Women's Basketball All-MIAA selections. The Trine University women's basketball team earned three selections to the all-conference team. Annika Southworth and Madison Wagner were named to the All-MIAA first team and Ally Capouch was named to the second team. All three women earned their first career
 
Southworth earns her first All-MIAA honor as a freshman. Southworth is the first freshman in program history to earn first team status. The native of St. Peter, Minnesota scored 11.1 points per game in conference play and was seventh with 2.3 assists per game and played 35 minutes per game. Southworth led Trine in made field goals.
 
Wagner joins Southworth on the first team. Wagner ranked third in the MIAA in three-point percentage and fourth in free throw percentage. She was Trine's scoring leader in conference play at 12.0 points per game. Wagner's 21-point performance against Hope on January 7th helped the Thunder past the Dutch and into the driver's seat in the MIAA, a spot they would not relinquish.
 
Capouch earns her first All-MIAA selection with a second team selection. Capouch is Trine's three-point ace, the junior has knocked down 55 triples this season and ranks 2nd in program history with 159 career makes and is in striking distance of Tara Bieniewicz's record of 212 next season. Capouch ranked fourth in the MIAA in three-point percentage and posted career highs in points, rebounds and assists this season.
 
This is the 10th season in a row that the Thunder had a player selected to the MIAA First Team. Trine has had at least one player earn All-MIAA honors every season since the 2014-15 season.
 
Trine hosts the MIAA semifinals and finals this weekend. Hope College and Albion College will play the first semifinal game this evening at 5:30 p.m. Trine hosts Calvin at 7:30 p.m. or 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
