JOLIET, Ill. – The Trine University Track and Field teams competed at the St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Chance Invitational this weekend.
Sidney Swick was the standout performer trimming over a minute off the old school record in the 10,000-meter run. Her time of 35:07.37 establishes a new program record and ranks her eighth in Division III.
Eleanor Young and
Bailey Puckett each competed in the 1500-meter run, Puckett was sixth in her heat with a new personal best of 4:29.35 and is 17
th in Division III. Young was fourth in her heat, finishing in 4:36.20.
Trine added two fifth place finishes in the 5000-meter run and the pole vault.
Grace Dubsky took fifth in the 5000 and
Olivia Andrews was fifth in the pole vault.
For the men's team were
Max Van Huis and
Blake Overmyer in the 5000-meter run. Van Huis was 14
th and Overmyer 18
th.
The top 22 individuals in each event will qualify for the NCAA Championships on May 22-24. The Thunder will travel to the Augustana Final Qualifier on Wednesday for one last chance at qualifying marks.
