HILLSDALE, Mich. – The 4x100-meter relay team of
Sophia Peter,
Emma Forker,
Ariana Todd, and
Mackenzie Miller broke the program record on Friday afternoon to lead the Trine University women's track and field teams in split squad action this week. The quarter passed the baton around the track in 47.95 seconds, shaving .84 off the old record and taking the win.
Forker and Miller finished 4-8 in the 100 meter dash, crossing in 12.24 and 12.43 seconds. Forker and Peter took fifth and eighth in the 200-meter dash, Forker came close to a second record in 25.39 seconds, just .13 off the mark. Peter finished in 25.70 seconds. Peter took fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.68 seconds.
Taryn Pratt was third in the 800-meter run in 2:22.57.
Sidney Swick and
Chloe Goodrich were first and seventh in the 5000-meter run, Swick classed the field in 17:00.80.
Olivia Andrews and
Avery Boyce took first and second in the pole vault for the second week in a row clearing 10' 6" and 10' 0" respectively.
Isabel Ferguson was seventh in the high jump and fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 34' 5". Abby Saner took third in shot put with a mark of 40' 1.5".
A contingent of distance runners traveled to Grand Valley State.
Bailey Puckett took the win in the 1500-meter run crossing in 4:30.97,
Eleanor Young was fourth in the race, finishing in 4:38.62.
Sophia Altman was fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 12:05.55.
The Thunder will travel to Hillsdale again next weekend for a final tune-up before the MIAA Championships on May 1
st and 2
nd.
