BLOOMINGTON, Ill. –
Rylee Smith finished tied for fourth at the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling with a 36 hole score of 153 to lead the Trine University Women's Golf team to a 12
th place showing. The field featured seven nationally ranked squads, Trine finished ahead of #49 Rose-Hulman.
Smith nailed seven pars on the back nine on day one, including six consecutive before finishing up on holes five and six with birdies. Both were par fours, five was 370 yards and six was 314. On day two she carded a 79 with three birdies on seventeen, one, and seven. She notched eight pars to finish the tournament in fourth.
Kayleigh Agugliaro rallied up 11 spots on the leaderboard with an 84 to finish 53
rd overall and second for Trine. She survived a rocky start by playing sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, one, two, and three even par. On day one, she shot an 84 and made nine pars including five in a row on eighteen, one, two, three, and four.
Natalie Kulka moved up five spots on day two with an 86 to finish 56
th and third for Trine. She finished day one with an 83, she birdied the 381 yard par four tenth and added nine pars.
Grace Dubec moved up the most for the Thunder on day two, she shot an 85 to climb 19 spots on the leaderboard for a 72
nd place finish. She added a birdie on three to punctuate her day.
Brooke Anderson played individually finished 41
st overall with a 165. She birdied the 474 yard par five third on day one. She made nine pars on day two.
The Thunder will host the Trine University Spring Classic this Friday at Zollner Golf Course.
