ST. LOUIS. – The Trine University women's golf team kicked off the spring portion of their 2025-26 schedule this weekend at the WashU Spring Invitational at Crown Pointe Golf Club. Trine placed eighth of 13 teams in a field that featured seven teams ranked inside the top-50 nationally. Natalie Kulka fired a 36-hole total of 152 strokes to lead the squad.

The #7 ranked host Bears won the team title with 588 strokes, #22 Illinois Wesleyan was second while # 29 Wisconsin-Stout, #19 Grinnell, and Saint Mary's (Ind.) rounded out the top five. Trine's total of 655 strokes is the eighth best 36 hole total in program history.

Kulka carded a round of 80 strokes on Sunday before settling in this afternoon for an even-par 72. Kulka started hot today with two birdies in her first four holes. She started on hole four and recorded birdies on holes five and seven and would ultimately play the front nine at three-under. Pars of seven of the nine holes on the back half helped solidify her round. She finished with birdies on holes one and two. Kulka placed tenth as an individual and her round of 72 stands as the second best round in program history.

Rylee Smith shot a two day total of 155 strokes with a 77 yesterday and a 78 this afternoon. She notched back-to-back birdies on eighteen and one yesterday and found the cup ahead of schedule on the first again today. Smith nailed a dozen pars this afternoon.

Kayleigh Agugliaro and Brooke Anderson rounded out the top four for the Thunder with rounds of 173 and 175. Agugliaro birdied eleven and thirteen this afternoon.

The Thunder return to action in two weeks with a trip to Normal, Illinois for Illinois Wesleyan's Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling.
