MARSHALL, Mich. –
Rylee Smith claimed medalist honors at the Marshall Masters this afternoon and led the Trine University women's golf team to the team title by one shot over hosts Albion. Smith carded a round of 73 as the Thunder tallied 324 strokes as a team.
Trine claimed the tournament over MIAA foes Albion and The University of Olivet. Albion claimed second with 325 strokes and the Comets were third with 381.
Smith led Trine's "A" team with 73 strokes,
Natalie Kulka placed third overall with 77.
Kayleigh Agugliaro and
Cassidy Hawken completed the scorecard with rounds of 82 and 92.
Grace Thiele was the fifth for Trine with a 95.
Brooke Anderson led the "B" team with an 81.
Calley Ruff,
Sophie VanDeveer, and
Sophie Argyle completed the B team with rounds of 90, 91, and 92.
The Trine "C" team was led by
Payton Ault who carded a 91.
This concluded the Thunder's fall season. Trine will return to the links in the spring where they will look to make up a two stroke deficit to Saint Mary's College at the MIAA Spring Final to earn the conferences automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
