ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University Women's Track and Field team brought home a second place finish at the MIAA Championships this afternoon. Trine tallied 154 points and earned 33 all-conference finishes. The top 8 finishers in each event scored team points and are considered all-conference. The top 3 finishers are named All-MIAA
Abby Sanner,
Bailey Puckett, and
Mackenzie Miller all earned MIAA Champion and First-Team honors. Sanner won the weight throw with a heave of 16.20 meters/53' 1.75", a new personal best. Puckett won the mile in 5:04.66 and Miller leapt 5.38 meters/17' 8" for the crown in the long jump.
Miller was third in the 60-meter dash and was joined on the podium by
Ariana Todd and
Sophia Peter, who finished 6
th and 7
th. Miller clocked 7.83 seconds, Todd finished in 8.07 and Peter crossed in 8.19.
Miller and Todd were back in action in the 200-meter dash taking 6
th and 8
th in 26.54 and 26.75 seconds.
Aniyah Small finished fifth in 26.48.
Adrianne Jackson was the lone representative in the 400 and placed 8
th in 1:03.54.
Halle Overmire,
Kelly Valle, and
Emily Wahl went 5-7-8 in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:24.27, 2:26.34, and 2:26.41 respectively.
Eleanor Young finished runner-up to Puckett in the mile in 5:07.27 and
Courtney Study was fifth in 5:14.53.
Puckett and Young followed up their mile performance with a 2-7 finish in the 3000-meter run.
Sidney Swick was third in 10:20.77.
Swick took second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:18.62,
Chloe Goodrich was fourth in 18:40.39 and
Grace Dubsky took fifth with a time of 18:48.15.
Brynn Mericle was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 9.40 seconds.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Jackson, Valle, Overmire, and Todd took fifth in 4:16.22.

Emily Wahl,
Taryn Pratt, and
Sophia Altman teamed up for a fourth place finish in the Distance Medley Relay, crossing in 13:18.70.
Emmaline Leatherman and
Isabel Ferguson were third and fifth in the high jump clearing 1.52 meters/4' 11.75" and 1.49 meters 4' 10.5".
Olivia Andrews cleared 3.21 meters/10' 6.25" and
Avery Boyce cleared 2.91 meters/9' 6.5" for a 3-7 finish in the pole vault.
Emma Forker took third in the long jump behind Miller with a leap of 5.29 meters/17' 4.25".
Leatherman and
Isabel Ferguson placed third and seventh in the triple jump. Leatherman jumped 10.86 meters/35' 7.75" and Ferguson hopped, skipped, and jumped 10.24 meters/ 33' 7.25".
Sanner took fourth in shot put with a toss of 11.97 meters/ 39' 3.25".
The Thunder will compete at the Wartburg Final Qualifier next weekend as Thunder athletes will have one final chance to make qualifying marks for the NCAA Championships.
