Thunder Place Four at Home Invite

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's wrestling team had four place at the 2025 Trine Invite. Tommy Miller led the way with a third-place finish.

Miller's day at 141 started with a tech fall victory over his opponent from Wilmington College. He followed up with a close match against Koen Eberhard from Albion. He advanced again with a 14-5 major decision in his quarterfinal match before falling in the semifinals by pin. He two straight to capture third place, the first by tech fall and the second with a pin.

Kaden Golder competed at 125 and came p with a fifth-place finish. He opened with two wins, the first by 10-3 decision and the second an 18-3 tech fall. In the semifinal round he dropped a 7-4 decision to fall to the consolation bracket semifinals. He dropped an 8-7 match to end up in the fifth-place match where he scored a pin just 40 seconds into the match.

Another fifth-place finish came at 157 from Austin Crowder. He started with two wins to reach the semifinals, the first a tech fall victory and the second a 13-3 major decision. Crowder dropped his semifinal 12-1 before being pinned in the consolation semifinal. He took the fifth-place match by no contest.

The final placer for the Thunder was Jacob Saylor at 197. He won his first match 8-1 before dropping to the consolation bracket with a loss in the quarterfinals. He won his next two matches, both by tech fall, to reach the consolation semifinal. He dropped that match but pinned his opponent in the fifth-place match.

The Thunder open the dual portion of their season when they next take the mats. They will host Manchester University on Thursday, November 13. That dual is currently scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
