ADRIAN, Mich. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has released their preseason coaches poll for the 2025-26 women's hockey season with Trine University selected to finish sixth.
The Thunder received votes tallying 49 points to hold the sixth spot. Adrian College and St. Norbert College were selected in a virtual tie atop of the standings. The Bulldogs received 94 points including five first place votes, while the Green Knights had 93 points and four first place votes. Concordia University Wisconsin finished with 78 points and Lake Forest College rounded out the top four with 70 points and the final first place vote.
Last season Trine finished seventh in the final conference standings with 17 points. They finished the season with a 8-17-2 overall record while going 5-11-2 in NCHA play. The trip to the NCHA Slaats Cup playoffs was the fifth straight for the team.
The biggest highlight of the season came in net where now sophomore Annie Kindseth established herself as a star. She earned both all-conference and all-freshman team honors for her work. She finished the season with 791 saves, a .931 save percentage and a 2.71 goals-against average. Marking some new program bests along the way.
Trine opens their season with an exhibition against Adrian on Saturday, October 25. Their first regular season contest comes on Friday, November 7 when they host the Falcons to open NCHA play.
