Women's Hockey Drops Second Game to Concordia Wisconsin

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's hockey team struck first but ultimately came up short against visiting Concordia University Wisconsin by the score of 3-1.

The Thunder scored in the first minute of the game to take their first lead of the season. Lauren Lacroix recovered the puck in the offensive end after a turnover by her teammate. She passed the puck toward the center of the blue line where Kalli Graham was streaking toward the net. Graham looked to pass as she reached the high slot, but with no better options she took a shot that found the top left corner of the net.

The Falcons knotted the score 12 minutes later and then took the lead in the waning minutes of the first period. They added a third straight goal out of the intermission, taking a 3-1 lead with 16 minutes remaining in the second period.

Neither team scored in the remaining time and the game eventually went final.

Zsuzsa Révész made her first start in net for the Thunder and ended the contest with 33 saves.

Trine falls to 0-2-0 overall and 0-2-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play following the loss. They will hit the road for their next weekend of games, starting on Friday, November 14 at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT. The pair of games are another NCHA series, this time against the University of Dubuque.
