EAST LANSING, Mich. – Bailey Puckett led the Trine Women's Cross Country team to a fifth-place finish at the 43^rd Spartan Invite this morning. Puckett crossed the line in 23:09.5 to place 34^th. The Thunder finished ahead of NAIA schools Spring Arbor and Lourdes.
 
Junior Sidney Swick was the second finisher for Trine, finishing in 23:20.5 for 43^rd place. Senior Chloe Goodrich, Freshman Courtney Study, and Junior Eleanor Young rounded out the top five finishers for Trine.
 
Overall, the Thunder scored 127 points and finished fifth behind strong competition from Division II schools Grand Valley State, Saginaw Valley State, and Ferris State. Michigan State claimed the team title with 28 points.
 
Trine returns to the course October 4^th for the DIII Pre-Nationals at the Lavern-Gibson XC Course hosted by Rose-Hulman.
