FORT WAYNE – The Trine University women's cross country had a day to remember at the Purdue Fort Wayne Rumble in the Fort. The Thunder contingent posted six new program top-20 performances, all ranking inside the top dozen.
Sidney Swick took the individual title to lead the Thunder to the team crown over several Division I opponents.
The Thunder placed four in the top 10 to take the team title over Butler by six points, 37-43. Milwaukee was third, the host Mastodons were fourth and IU-Indianapolis was fifth. Manchester was the only other Division III opponent, taking seventh place.
Swick took the win in 21:07.3 a new #2 all-time mark, she ranks behind All-American Evie Miller (Bultemeyer) who's school record of 20:43.7 will stand for at least two more weeks.
Eleanor Young finished fourth in 21:38.2 with a new #3 program mark,
Bailey Puckett remained #4 all-time but improved her time to 21:47.0 with a ninth place finish. In tenth was
Chloe Goodrich in 21:49.8, she moves to #6 in program history.
Courtney Study rounded out the Thunder five with a 13
th place finish. A personal best of over a minute moves her to the #10 spot all-time in 22:13.2.
Grace Dubsky was the sixth finisher for Trine she placed 17
th with a massive personal best of 3:27 moves her to #12 all-time in 22:19.8.
Trine is off next weekend to prepare for the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic on October 4
th at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
