Four Personal Bests Lead Women's Cross Country to Best MIAA Finish in 5 Years

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Bailey Puckett the Trine University Women's Cross Country team across the line on Saturday morning at the MIAA Championships. The Thunder placed four runners in the top nine as they finished second as a team behind hosts Calvin. The finish was the best result for Trine since 2019.
 
Trine earned three first team All-MIAA selections in Puckett, Sidney Swick, and Eleanor Young. The trio crossed the line in fifth, sixth, and seventh place. Chloe Goodrich was close behind in ninth and earned second team honors. All four women set new personal bests. Puckett finished in 21:51.3, Swick ran 21:57.0, Young clocked a 22:12.9 and Goodrich finished 22:21.7. Hannah Parker was the fifth finisher for the Thunder, placing 17th with a time of 23:14.6.
 
Trine returns to the course on November 16th at the NCAA DIII Great Lakes Regional meet, hosted by Franklin College.
