TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Trine University women's cross country team finished 12
th at the 2024 Pre-Nationals Race hosted by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. 44 teams competed in the event, with some of the best from across the country present.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology won the event with a low score of 56. The University of Chicago (145 points) and DePauw University (206) rounded out the podium. The Thunder finished 12
th with 392 points, just behind The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and ahead of Ohio Northern University.
Junior
Bailey Puckett led the team with a time of 22:26.91. She was the only member of the team with a top-50 finish, coming in 42
nd as an individual. Senior
Chloe Goodrich finished 64
th in the event with a time of 22:48.60 and junior
Eleanor Young came in at 86
th with a time of 23:05.09 to round out the top three times for Trine. The final counting finishes came from
Hannah Parker (23:13.49) in 95
th and
Annabel Stanley (23:45.27) in 140
th.
The Thunder will next take the course when they travel to Rock Island, Ill. for the Augustana Interregional Invitational on Saturday, October 19. That race is set to start at 11 a.m.
