Pair of Personal Bests lead Women's Cross Country to Seventh-Place Finish

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Trine Women's Cross Country team placed seventh at the Augustana Interregional Invitational this afternoon. Trine topped 25th ranked Wartburg as the field featured six teams ranked inside the top 25 in the country. #2 Colorado College claimed the team title and top individual honors. Trine was second among teams in their region, finishing just behing 12th ranked DePauw.
 
Bailey Puckett was Trine's top individual conquering the 6km course in 22:17.3, placing 35th of 355 runners. 43 was the number of the day for Sidney Swick as a 43 second personal best earned her a finish of 43rd. She finished with a time of 22:25.9. Hannah Parker also ran a new personal best of 22:41.8, improving her previous best by nine seconds. She placed 58th in 22:41.8. Chloe Goodrich was next across the line for the Thunder in 65th, she finished in 22:47.6. Eleanor Young rounded out the Thunder top-5 with an 87th place finish, clocking 23:02.3 coming out on top of a four-wide photo finish between herself and runners from Wisconsin-Whitewater, Trinity (Tx.), and Wisconsin Eau-Claire.
 
Trine is off next weekend before heading to Grand Rapids for the MIAA XC Championships, hosted by Calvin. Start time is set for 11:00 a.m.
