ANGOLA, IND.-- The Trine men's soccer team was defeated by Alma, 1-0, Saturday afternoon in MIAA-action at Weaver Field.

Chris Buitenhuis scored on a free kick at the 10:10 mark to provide the only scoring of the match. The junior blasted a shout from outside of the box into the top corner for his first goal of the season. Nick Strait picked up the shutout with three saves in net. Alma outshot Trine by a 12-10 margin and produced 10 corner kick opportunities to one for the Thunder. Trine falls to 3-6-1 overall, 0-4 in the MIAA. Alma improves to 3-3-2 overall, 2-2 in the conference.

Chris Stewart (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) made two saves for the Thunder.The senior entered the match leading the MIAA in saves and minutes played.

Trine returns to action this Wednesday, Oct. 1 when they travel to Calvin for a 4 p.m. match.
