THUNDER HAVE ROUGH GO ABOUT AT CALVIN

Box Score

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - It was a tough day for the Trine University men's soccer team as they fell to conference leader Calvin College 4-1. The Thunder fall to 10-4-2 on the season and 6-4-1 in the conference.

Trine would strike the first blow, as senior Foster Webb (Auburn, Ind./Dekalb) netted his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 22nd minute. Calvin would tie the game up just two minutes later on a re-directed shot.

The Knights would blow the game open in the second half as they would tally three scores including goals in the 71st and 79th minutes.

Senior Nick Thon (South Haven, Mich./South Haven) had a rough afternoon between the pipes as he allowed all four goals, doubling his goals allowed total through his previous 15 games while making six saves.

The Knights controlled the offensive play as they held a 23-to-9 shot advantage.

The Thunder will go right back to work as they travel to Olivet College on October 25 for a 4:00 p.m. match.
