SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team took second place at the second MIAA Jamboree this afternoon at Clearbrook Golf Course. Rylee Smith fired a one under 71 to take medalist honors.
 
Albion College took the win with 323 strokes, the Thunder were one shot behind in second place. Hope College took third and Adrian College was fourth. Trine is now tied for third in the MIAA standings and just three shots behind conference leaders Albion.
 
Smith claimed medalist honors by four shots and is now atop the individual MIAA standings. She began the day with a birdie on hole one and never saw her score go above par as the junior added three more throughout the rest of the round.
 
Trine's other counting scores came from Brooke Anderson, Natalie Kulka, and Cassidy Hawken. Anderson and Kulka tied for 17^th with rounds of 84 and Hawken tied for 23^rd with an 85.
 
Trine heads to Blackthorn Golf Club on Monday for a two day event hosted by Bethel University (Ind.).
