ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's golf team finished third at MIAA Jamboree #3 this afternoon at Zollner Golf Course. The Thunder posted a round of 320 strokes and were led by co-medalist,
Rylee Smith.
Kalamazoo College won the event with 315 strokes, five ahead of the Thunder. Adrian College took second with 316 strokes. Smith finished in a four way tie for first place to maintain her lead atop the individual standings. The Thunder are now second in the team standings, four shots behind Adrian.
Smith posted a very consistent day that included 14 pars and one birdie for a round of 74 (+2). Smith posted birdie on the par five fifth to level her score at even par. She opened the back nine with eight consecutive pars and finished the day with bogey on eighteen.
Natalie Kulka placed 14
th for Trine with a round of 80, the senior also made birdie on hole five and made ten pars on the day.
Cassidy Hawken placed 20
th for Trine and
Brooke Anderson was 27
th as the duo rounded out the Thunder's scoring rounds with rounds of 82 (+10) and 84 (+12).
Charlotte Morley and
Mia Loggins competed as individuals and placed 10
th and 17
th. Morley carded a round of 79 (+7) and 81 (+9).
The Thunder close out the fall season at Jamboree #4 on October 12 at Warren Golf Course, hosted by Saint Mary's College (Ind.).
