MARSHALL, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team finished fourth at the first of four fall Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association this afternoon. Rylee Smith and Cassidy Hawken led the Thunder in a tie for fourth place with rounds of 79 strokes each.
 
Adrian College took the team title with 318 strokes, Albion College, Hope College, and the Thunder took the next three spots, separated by just two shots. Adrian's Kennedy Kehres was the individual medalist with 76 strokes.
 
Hawken birdied holes ten and eighteen, both par fours, to go with nine pars. Smith birdied her final hole of the day, the par four thirteenth to go with ten pars.
 
Natalie Kulka also birdied hole thirteen and added another on hole four to finish tied for 14^th and carded a round of 82. Paige Fischer provided Trine's fourth score with an 87 from the freshman.
 
Trine returns to action this weekend at the 36-hole Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic.
