LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) has recognized the Trine University men's lacrosse team along with seniors J'Oshua Shaw and Mason Levin for their achievements in the classroom and on the field. Shaw and Levin earn the title of Scholar All-American while the Thunder earned the Team Academic Award.
This is the first time that the team has had multiple honorees in the same season. It is also the third straight season with the Thunder represented by an individual. Recipients are seniors who have been nominated by their coaches and who have achieved a 3.0 or better GPA. They must also have been a credit to himself, his institution and to college lacrosse both on and off the field.
Shaw, a native of West Lafayette, Ind., finished his career at Trine with his best season. He earned his first selection to an All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team and made a trip to the USILA Senior All-Star Game earlier this summer. He led the team in 2025 with 72 groundballs while sitting second with 25 caused turnovers.
Levin finished his career a year early but finished with his second-straight selection to All-MIAA second team. The Mason, Ohio native was once again at the center of the defensive effort for the Thunder which finished second in the conference allowing just 7.83 goals per game by MIAA opponents. He finished tenth in the MIAA with 1.67 caused turnovers per game. Overall, he was third on the team with 18 caused turnovers and fifth with 39 groundballs.
The Team Academic Award is handed out to teams that achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the season's academic year.
