Garrett James Finishes Season at NCAA Championships

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Garrett James represented the Trine University men's golf team at the NCAA Championships this week at Mission Inn Resort. James was one of 10 individuals selected to play at the NCAA Tournament.
 
James finished with a 36-hole total of 152 strokes, nine over par. His tournament began yesterday at Las Colinas Golf Club where he played the first nine holes before rain ended the day early. He picked up this morning on hole one and played the front nine holes at even par with a birdie on the 500-yard par five fifth. He finished the round with a 74, three over par.
 
After completing the front nine at Las Colinas he moved to El Campeon Golf Course. He started on hole one and finished the front nine at four over par. He closed out the back nine at two over and made birdie on the 532-yard par five fourteenth.
 
James finishes tied for 133rd of 225 golfers. He is Trine's first representative at the NCAA Championships since the 2021 season when the Thunder advanced to the tournament as a team. James finishes tied for fourth in career scoring average and fourth in 36 hole scoring average. He owns part of a three way tie for the program's lowest round, a 65 he shot this fall at Pine River Country Club.
 
This concludes the season for the Thunder.
