HILLSDALE, Mich. –
Kyle Redd led the Trine University men's track and field team to a third-place finish at the Hillsdale College Tune Up on Saturday afternoon at Hayden Park. Redd posted three top-10 program marks in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and the 4x100-meter relay.
Redd stormed to #5 all-time in both the 100 and 200 in times of 10.74 and 21.78 seconds. He placed second in the 200-meters. He then joined
Corey Washington,
Mason Turske, and
Braden Estep in the 4x100-meter relay for a second-place finish in 41.67 seconds. The time ranks fifth best in program history. Washington and
Hunter Wilson took fourth and fifth in the 100-meter dash in 10.96 and 10.98 seconds.
Rushawn James was eighth in the 400-meter dash in 51.56 seconds.
Cole Figg and
Ayden Coppola took third and fifth in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing in 15.35 and 15.74 seconds.
Trine scored four men in the long jump.
Tyler Barnes took third,
Clayton Griswold was fourth,
Isaiah Pryor was fifth, and
Caleb Daniels took eighth. Barnes leap measured 6.20 meters/20' 4.25". Barnes, Daniels, and Pryor also placed in the triple jump with Barnes leading the 5-6-8 effort with an 11.90m/39' .25" effort.
Trace Stookey led the throwers with scoring efforts in the discus and hammer throw. His discus throw covered 43.73m/143' 6" in hammer, he heaved 48.58m/159' 4".
Colten Zableckis and
Collin Brady also scored points in the saucer toss.
Trine placed 2-3-4-5 in the javelin throw with
James Wordleman leading the effort with a 44.14m/144' 10" effort.
Harrison Richter, Zableckis, and Brady completed the finishes.
Trine looks to claim its sixth consecutive outdoor MIAA Championship next Thursday and Friday at Hope College.
